Courses and Training

You’ll take four Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses and English (ESL) lessons over four quarters (1 year). All courses are in Spanish and taught on Zoom.

Early Childhood Education (ECE) Courses

  • Introduction to Early Childhood Studies: Child Growth and Development
    • Learn how children grow, think, feel, and play at different ages so you can connect and help them succeed.
  • The Role of Home, School, and Community in Early Childhood Education
    • Understand how families, teachers, and communities work together to help children learn.
  • Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum in Early Childhood Education
    • Learn how to create fun, safe learning activities for children that match their age and needs.
  • Health, Safety, and Nutrition in Early Childhood Education
    • Explore how to keep kids healthy and safe, and how to support their nutrition and well-being.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

  • Improve your speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English with support every Saturday after your ECE class. You'll gain confidence in using English at school, work, and in daily life.

Saturday Schedule

  • 8 AM – 12 PM: Childcare class
  • 1-hour lunch break
  • 1 PM – 3 PM: English (ESL)

Homework: About 5 hours per week

What You’ll Learn

  • Understand how young children grow and learn
  • Work with families and help build strong classroom teams
  • Plan fun and safe activities for kids
  • Use your caregiving skills to help in a childcare job or at-home daycare
  • Speak and understand English with more confidence

CPR/First Aid Certification

  • Included in the program for free.

Internship Placement

  • You’ll complete 50 days in a licensed childcare center or home daycare. We will help you set it up.

Other Requirements

  • You must pass all classes with a C or better
  • No absences allowed
