Is This Program Right for You?
To be eligible for the California Farmworker Advancement Program, you must meet all of the following requirements.
General Requirements
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and possess valid work documents.
- Social Security Number: Must have a valid Social Security Number.
- Vaccine Records: Must be willing to provide records for TB, Tdap, Hepatitis B, MMR, Flu, and Whooping Cough vaccines.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check and fingerprinting.
Farmworker Status
- You must meet at least one of the following criteria. Proof of employment (a W-2 form or pay stubs) will be required for verification.
- You have worked in the agriculture industry for a minimum of 12 consecutive months within the last two years.
- You are a migrant farmworker whose job requires travel to a site that prevents you from returning to your permanent residence on the same day.
- You are a seasonal farmworker.
- You are a dependent of an eligible migrant or seasonal farmworker as defined by the IRS.
Education Requirements
- You must provide one of the following documents:
- A High School Diploma or Equivalency
- An official transcript of any education you have completed, including junior high or high school.
