Is This Program Right for You?

To be eligible for the California Farmworker Advancement Program, you must meet all of the following requirements.

General Requirements

  • Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and possess valid work documents.
  • Social Security Number: Must have a valid Social Security Number.
  • Vaccine Records: Must be willing to provide records for TB, Tdap, Hepatitis B, MMR, Flu, and Whooping Cough vaccines.
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check and fingerprinting.

Farmworker Status

  • You must meet at least one of the following criteria. Proof of employment (a W-2 form or pay stubs) will be required for verification.
    • You have worked in the agriculture industry for a minimum of 12 consecutive months within the last two years.
    • You are a migrant farmworker whose job requires travel to a site that prevents you from returning to your permanent residence on the same day.
    • You are a seasonal farmworker.
    • You are a dependent of an eligible migrant or seasonal farmworker as defined by the IRS.

Education Requirements

  • You must provide one of the following documents:
    • A High School Diploma or Equivalency
    • An official transcript of any education you have completed, including junior high or high school.
