  CAN is open Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Please note that the scanner requires approximately 15 minutes to start up, so the earliest scan that can be scheduled is 8:15 AM.

• Scheduling Guidelines

  *Note: All appointment and reservation requests are subject to approval.*
  • Appointment Time: Appointment time begins when you enter the control room (including setup, practice, and preparation) and ends at departure. Please schedule additional time beyond the scan duration as needed.
  • Appointment Requests: A three-business-day advance notice is preferred but not required, except for after-hours and weekend scans, which do require advance notice.
  • Back-to-Back Appointments: Please allow a 15-minute buffer between appointments for room setup (e.g., coil changes, linens, equipment).

• Usage and Charges

  • Usage Calculations: Charges are based on total control room time (setup + scanning). Each lab is responsible for scheduling sufficient time for subject preparation and data collection.
  • The work room or testing room may be used at no charge for paperwork, consent, or practice testing, provided the control room computer is not required. Please ensure the reservation form accurately reflects the actual times reserved for each room, if applicable. 
  • Rates:
    • MRI scanner: $125/ 15 minutes
    • Work room and testing room: No charge

• Cancellation Policy

*Cancellation notices submitted on weekends or holidays will not be accepted.*

• 48+ hours in advance: No charge
• 47–24 hours in advance: $75 cancellation fee
• Less than 24 hours in advance, same-day cancellations, or no-shows: Charged 100% of scheduled time, plus staffing costs if applicable

*Appointments that are rescheduled within the timeframes listed above will be assessed the same fees as cancellations, based on when the reschedule request is submitted.*
