EDGE Sound Research, a startup founded by UC Riverside graduates that is focused on creating immersive audio experiences in sports and entertainment, will receive the city of Riverside’s Innovation Award.

Join the UCR Orchestra, conducted by Ruth Charloff, on January 31 at 8 p.m. and February 1 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre. Tickets are available now.

This spring is filled with live events from the UC Riverside Department of Music. The series will showcase the talents of UCR students and feature everything from Dvořák’s popular “New World Symphony” to chorale music from Japan and West Africa.

Join the UCR Orchestra under the baton of Ruth Charloff for a concert on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. or on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m., at the University Theatre on the UC Riverside campus. “We’re playing some pretty extroverted repertoire,” Charloff said. The concert will begin with a short suite of instrumental music from the American composer Gian Carlo Menotti’s one-act opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors.”

Students, faculty, and visitors can attend the Florence Bayz Music Series every Wednesday during the academic year at Noon. The events are free and held in the Arts Building, room 157.

Continuation of Gluck Fellows Program provides wide-ranging opportunities for self-expression and creativity.

The two-day event is free and invites local musicians and families to join Oaxacan composers to participate in a recording session and evening performance.

The UCR Chorale, Chamber Singers and Orchestra with guest soloists soprano Lindsay Feldmeth Westra and baritone Philip Meyer, conducted by Ruth Charloff, will feature Gabriel Fauré’s luminous and innovative “Requiem.”
