In response to a directive, the Nursing Informatics and Salesforce engineering team developed a robust Digital Rounding Utility (DRU) to replace the existing patient experience tool. The project aimed to create a more efficient and integrated system to enhance patient care and streamline operations. Remarkably, within 60 days, we designed, built, and launched the initial version of DRU, featuring basic functionality, manual processes, and minimal reporting capabilities. Since its inception, DRU has evolved through several iterations into a comprehensive platform that integrates seamlessly with multiple hospital systems. Key integrations include the electronic health records (EHR) system, a survey tool, a customer relationship management (CRM) system, and a ticketing maintenance and facilities tool. Ongoing iterations are incorporating AI and an improved user interface to better support frontline staff.

            The previous SSIS/Python ETL was viewed as antiquated, disjointed and problematic for maintenance and reliability. A modern embedded data solution centered around a user defined data mart which would act as the catalyst for driving informed decision making and supporting prioritized initiatives from executive leaders was seen as the solution. There were two sets of goals, create a self-service data layer for ad hoc questions, a recurring reporting solution and support KPI metric dashboards. The team sought a democratized solution, rapid cycle improvement, scalability, and ability to move from on-prem to cloud when the time came. The solution that stood out was dbt, chosen for its data transformation capabilities. We have successfully created more than a dozen gold-level tables in our production environment with an increase in efficiency and reliability since implementing the open-source solution. The result has improved collaboration, change tracking and version control via Git.

                                    Developing and scaling generative AI tools across all mission areas of a healthcare, research, and educational UC requires continuous adapting to once in a generation speed technological landscape. Transformationally powerful new AI technologies are released on a monthly basis, requiring rapid adaptation and unquenchable user demand. When every aspect of what the team is building is new, this sits squarely in the Innovation track but is also a new way of building scalable Systems and Solutions in a rapidly changing landscape. </div>

            This presentation provides insights into how our department created a successful business continuity plan after many years of fits and adjustments. Rounds of evolving user training over the years attempted to transition users to our vision without success until the gaps with users were isolated using virtual machines. This allowed our department to adjust testing scenarios to simulate a disaster and arrive at solutions where our users could use any device (a provided device or BYOD) in a Zero Trust environment and continue doing their work. Technically, this was not achievable even a few years ago, but with changes in our network, software applications, and business processes our department made the dream a reality. In conclusion, our staff can confidently handle a worst-case disaster scenario of losing our physical building and still continue with their work, even if they did not have any IT Support for the first 7 days.

            While university data held immense value, its fragmentation limited its utility. We built a modern cloud platform, centralizing data and establishing a single source of truth. This demo will illustrate how we centralized disparate data, creating a unified foundation for actionable insights.

Our Agenda:
Cloud Migration: Secure, scalable platform integrating diverse data sources into a single source of truth.
Automated Pipelines: Collection, Erichment, and Curation ensuring data consistency.
Self-Service Access: User-friendly interfaces for all stakeholders.

This demo will showcase the Data Lakehouse in action, swiftly and efficiently by utilizing pre-built frameworks guided by configuration.

The automated pipelines transfer data across 6 stages:
* Data Collection
* Data Enrichment
* Data Curation
* Data Access
* Data Delivery
* Data Quality
This consistent framework-driven approach enable data-driven decision-making data-driven decision-making throughout UCLA.

We are representing UCLA's Enterprise Data and Analytics team. Our team is responsible for creating critical Data Integration Solutions for UCLA. University data holds immense value, but its impact is often limited by fragmented, siloed systems. We have architected a modern, cloud-based data platform with Automated Data Pipelines that runs our daily Data Loads through a Well-Architected framework. This platform eliminates silos, centralizes data, and ensures quality through automation. <br>
This track was found more suitable for Demonstrating our Data Solution end to end as per systems and solutions: Data. </div>

            The UC Digital Donor Library (DDL) is a system designed to help UC medical school campuses including UCD, UCI, UCLA, UCSD, and UCSF manage every stage of anatomical donations—from donor registration and preparation to inventory tracking, allocation, and final disposition.
Originally launched in 2008 as a desktop application, the DDL underwent a major modernization effort in 2023 to a secure Cloud based solution.
In this session, we’ll cover:
•	Program Overview: Overview of DDL and the key challenges faced during implementation.
