He recently completed a six month fellowship in the Office of Congressman Mark Takano (CA 39th), Riverisde's Representative. Elijah looked at California state allocation of federal funding to counties. Current allocations are based on rules set in 2011, which may not accurately represent how counties have changed in the last decade. This fellowship network was created in partnership with Science to Policy at UCR. Notably, 5 S2P Alumni participated in the inaugural program ye: Lilian Azer, Sarah Bobardt, William Ota, Jenna Roper, and Agnes Varghese. The 150 page report details the training program, in-person symposium in Okinawa, Japan, invited speakers, and contains the fellows policy briefs and op-eds that were prepared during the course.
