About this Event
The Association of Graduate Students in Hispanic Studies will host its sixteenth annual academic conference on Thursday, April 16th, and Friday, April 17th, at UC Riverside. The conference is open to all graduate students, as well as to the public; there is no registration fee. This event is entirely student-generated and organized by UCR’s Hispanic Studies graduate students. This is a full 2-day event, and we anticipate participants and attendees from various Southern Californian universities. The goal of this year’s conference is to promote an interdisciplinary dialogue on various topics related to Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula, and Spanish-speaking communities in different regions. Our goal is to host presenters from different fields such as linguistics, cultural production, history, anthropology, and more. This coming together of various approaches is crucial to the understanding of many of the issues faced throughout the aforementioned regions and peoples.
