 For this year's Highlander Day of Service, the School of Public Policy will be hosting a habitat restoration project with Rivers & Land Conservancy! By participating in this event, your efforts will help support our ongoing habitat restoration project with the goal of providing much-needed food and shelter for the unique wildlife that calls the area home.

Participants will assist with weeding and watering planting sites established last fall by local college students and community members.

 

What to Bring/Wear:

  • All volunteers must wear long pants and closed-toed shoes (such as sneakers or boots)
  • Long sleeves, hat, and sunblock are recommended
  • Please bring water and any snacks you might need 
  • We will provide all necessary supplies for the event (you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you prefer)
     

How to Register:

  • All volunteers 18 years and older must register individually ahead of time through Civic Champs 
  • Volunteers under the age of 18 who are attending the event with an adult can be listed as additional participants during the Civic Champs signup process
  • Registrants under the age of 18 must list the name of a parent/guardian consenting to their participation during the Civic Champs signup process
     

Waiver Requirements: 

All volunteers must sign a Rivers & Lands Conservancy waiver before participating in event activities 
*Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian sign a waiver on their behalf during our in-person event check-in process before participating in event activities
