UCR\u2019s Department of Economics is among the finest academic units in the country, with some unique features and special characteristics not to be found in many economics departments in the nation. We take pride in the fact that our distinguished faculty members are engaged in path-breaking research in economic theory and econometrics as well as in the applied fields of economics. They are also dedicated teachers committed to both undergraduate and graduate training. Our department has an active seminar series (four each week), as well as a distinguished visitor program that attracts eminent speakers from around the country and the world.<\/p>\n

The Department of Economics requires substantial funding beyond what the state of California can provide. Your financial contribution to the department will help maintain and enhance the quality of our research and teaching. It will enable us to attract and retain the best faculty and students.
