PhD students who enter the program with a Bachelor\u2019s degree have the opportunity to earn a MA in the course of the PhD program. <\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-spoiler su-spoiler-style-default su-spoiler-icon-plus su-spoiler-closed\" data-scroll-offset=\"0\" data-anchor-in-url=\"no\"><div class=\"su-spoiler-title\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\"><span class=\"su-spoiler-icon\"><\/span>How does the online application work? <\/div><div class=\"su-spoiler-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\"> The <a href=\"https:\/\/grad.ucr.edu\/apply\/?_gl=1*yoqbzu*_ga*MTczMTg0MDIzNC4xNjgyNzAxMDg5*_ga_S8BZQKWST2*MTY5NzE0MTUwMi4zMTQuMS4xNjk3MTQxOTQ2LjAuMC4w*_ga_Z1RGSBHBF7*MTY5NzE0MTUwMi4zMTQuMS4xNjk3MTQxOTQ2LjAuMC4w\">UCR Graduate Application<\/a> allows applicants to upload all required application materials electronically as PDFs or Word Documents. Applicants can track the status of their file through the online portal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT NOTE:<\/strong> All Letters of Recommendation are received electronically. Recommenders will receive an email at the email address provided by the applicant <strong>after<\/strong> the application is submitted. Additional merit-based funding may be available from the Graduate Division.<\/p>\n<p>MA students receive limited financial support in the form of fellowship funding. Please submit unofficial scores with the application. The Graduate Admissions office will request official electronic test scores from those who are offered and accept admission into the graduate program.<\/li>\n<li>The International Applicant Confidential Financial Statement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>International applicants who receive and accept admissions offers are required to submit a Verification of Financial Support and obtain the correct visa. To retain funding, international students must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and make satisfactory academic progress (advancing to PhD candidacy before the ninth quarter in the program and completing the dissertation within six years of entering the program). International students who do not meet these requirements will be assessed a Non-Resident Supplemental Tuition Fee each quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that UCR\u2019s quarterly tuition and fees do not cover living expenses.
