Website<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>[\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″][vc_column_text]Brandon Lattu<\/strong>\u00a0is an artist whose work utilizes photography, sculpture, and video to investigate the constantly changing state of representation in order to push beyond the conventional empiricism that pictures of the world have traditionally invoked.\u00a0 His work particularly addresses the social structures emphasized and enforced by models of perspective and abstraction as well as spatial hierarchies in architecture and commerce.<\/p>\n

Lattu will be the subject of a mid-career survey curated by Charlotte Cotton at the California Museum of Photography in 2021. An earlier\u00a0survey exhibition<\/a>\u00a0of his work was held at the Kunstverein in Bielefeld, Germany in 2007, accompanied by\u00a0Office Gray Case<\/a>, an artist\u2019s book reworking the traditional monograph.<\/p>\n

Lattu has been included in numerous international group exhibitions at venues including the Institut D\u2019Art Contemporain, Lyon;\u00a0Metropolitan Museum of Art<\/a>, New York (2013); Powerstation of Art, Shanghai (2012); Fondacion Jumex, Ecatapec (2012); Museum Ostwall, Dortmund (2011);\u00a0Mak Center, Los Angeles (2010); the Stedelijk Museum Bureau, Amsterdam (2009); Vox Centre de L\u2019image Contemporaine, Montreal (2008); the Essl Collection, Vienna (2007);\u00a0Centre Pompidou, Paris (2006); and the Kunsthalle Basel (2000).\u00a0 His work is in the public collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Fondacion Jumex, Mexico, the Essl Collection, Vienna; the Torrance Art Museum, Torrance, CA; and the Centre Pompidou, Paris.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
